General Information
Conference Location
Zuse Institute Berlin, Takustraße 7, 14195 Berlin, Germany and Freie Universität Berlin Kaiserswerther Str. 16-18, 14195 Berlin, Germany
Unless otherwise specified, all sessions are scheduled to take place at the Zuse Institute Berlin and Free University Berlin.
Standard Audio-visual Set-up in Meeting Rooms
All speakers must provide their own computers; SIAM will provide an LCD projector with HDMI connection and screen in each technical session meeting room. Speakers who require a USB-C or VGA connection should bring their own connector. Please review the Guidelines for Meeting Participants, which includes a detailed Audio-Visual policy.
Internet Access
Eduroam will be available in the meeting space for light browsing. For those without eduroam access, complimentary Wi-Fi will be provided.
Local Area
Go to Visit Berlin for more information on Berlin and the surrounding area.
The average March temperature ranges between 35° F (1.6°C) and 47° F (8.2°C). Meeting room temperatures and personal comfort zones vary widely. It is recommended that you bring a sweater or jacket to the sessions.
Accompanying Persons
Currently there are no activities planned for accompanying persons. Berlin offers a great variety of possible activities and sights, mostly in the city centre. However, as Berlin is much more geographically distributed than, say, Paris or London, attractive locations are found all over the city. Accommodation at a half distance between the conference venue and the city centre might be a good compromise. The Steglitz International hotel, e.g., is located in a good spot for that - from there it takes just 10 - 20 min public transport to either City West or City Centre.
Lunch
We plan to offer access to the Free University Mensa (choice/quality/pricing is quite ok) at a walking distance of around 500m from the conference site. In a similar distance there are a couple of fast food options and restaurants.
No PP26 conference dinner is planned.
