New England
The New England Section of SIAM serves SIAM members in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
Section Purpose
The purpose of this section is to further the application of mathematics to industry and science, promote basic research in mathematics leading to new methods and techniques useful to industry and science, and to provide media for the exchange of information and ideas between mathematicians and other technical and scientific personnel.
Activities
Activities for the New England Section of SIAM include annual section meetings, seminars, and workshops for advanced topics of common interests of the section members, encouraging new SIAM student chapters and facilitating connection between local SIAM student chapters, promoting collaboration in applied mathematics and its applications to industry and science, and expanding the influence of SIAM in New England. Participation in the New England Section of SIAM activities are open to all institutions and industries in the region with an interest in applied and computational mathematics.
