Meet the SIAM Industry Committee Panel on May 23

The SIAM Industry Committee remains committed to the promotion of applied mathematics research and the solution of real-world problems in industry settings. The committee advises the SIAM Vice President for Industry on topics that pertain to SIAM products, services, programs, and other membership benefits that are especially relevant to SIAM’s industrial members. To highlight the myriad employment opportunities for applied mathematicians and computational scientists beyond academia, the Industry Committee holds a yearly virtual career panel that allows attendees to hear from and interact with members of the committee. The fifth annual "Meet the SIAM Industry Committee" panel will take place on Friday, May 23, from 12-1 p.m. ET; we will confirm the list of panelists closer to the event.

During the panel, each panelist will provide a brief introduction that overviews their work and career trajectory. The audience participants will then have a chance to interact directly with each panelist in smaller group settings via breakout rooms, where they can ask follow-up questions about specific industry/government sectors, educational backgrounds, job openings, career transitions, and/or work culture. This event will be a great opportunity for students, early-career trainees, and any other interested parties to better prepare for a career in industry/government, pursue impactful and rewarding careers outside of academia, and network with current members of the SIAM Industry Committee. Academic faculty are also encouraged to attend the panel to support their current trainees who are interested in careers in industry and government.

Registration for the panel is free. To secure your spot, please sign up here. We hope to see you there!
