SIAM Welcomes New Staff Member

The SIAM team is excited to announce our newest addition, Ryan Wagner, as SIAM’s Programs Coordinator!

Before joining SIAM, Ryan served in the Peace Corps in Ukraine after college, then moved to Hong Kong to teach English. A few years later, he returned to the U.S. to pursue a graduate degree in public administration at Rutgers University–Camden.

As Programs Coordinator, Ryan works to prepare and review data related to various programs SIAM holds throughout the year. His work includes M3 Challenge as well as other programs and initiatives.

Get to Know Ryan

Q: Why are you excited to be working at SIAM?

A: I am excited to work at SIAM because of the opportunity to get back to working alongside education and helping to advance the careers of the next generation.

Q: What part of SIAM’s mission statement do you connect with?

A: The idea that a few people came together to exchange ideas around a shared passion, and ended up creating an impactful, lasting organization with international reach, made SIAM stand out to me.

Q: Why do you think STEM is important?

A: I believe STEM is important because it drives innovation, and through innovation the world becomes more connected and better equipped to lift more people up.

Q: What is one thing that most people do not know about you?

A: I can name the capital and identify the flag of every country in the world.

Q: How do you see your role positively impacting the SIAM community as a whole?

A: As Programs Coordinator, I hope to help the SIAM community by making sure things run smoothly and by working with the rest of the Programs team to continuously improve all aspects of the SIAM program experience.
