SIAM Welcomes Three New Staff Members
The SIAM team is excited to welcome three new staff members. Get to know:
Mounika Gadhe, Systems Administrator
Mounika joins SIAM with several years of experience in IT operations, having worked as a systems administrator at Syneos Health and The Miiint Solutions. Her career began in India, where she discovered a passion for technology and system administration. Moving to the U.S. gave Mounika new opportunities to grow both personally and professionally, strengthening her commitment to building reliable, secure systems and gaining experience that she now brings to SIAM.
As SIAM’s Systems Administrator, Mounika manages and supports SIAM’s IT systems, focusing on server infrastructure and resolving level 2 technical issues, to ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted operations.

Q: Why are you excited to be working at SIAM?
A: I’m genuinely excited to be part of an organization that makes a real difference through science and technology. Knowing that the work I do behind the scenes helps support researchers, educators, and innovators around the world is incredibly meaningful to me. It’s inspiring to contribute to a mission that promotes knowledge and problem-solving for the greater good.
Q: What part of SIAM’s mission statement do you connect with?
A: I really connect with SIAM’s focus on using math and computational science to solve real-world problems. It’s inspiring to be part of something that supports meaningful work and helps turn ideas into real impact. That sense of purpose makes what we do here feel truly valuable.
Q: Why do you think STEM is important?
A: STEM drives progress. It helps us solve problems, improve lives, and build a better future across every industry.
Q: What is one thing that most people do not know about you?
A: Moving abroad on my own was one of the biggest challenges of my life but also the most rewarding. It taught me how strong I can be, how to embrace change with courage, and how real growth begins when you step outside your comfort zone.
Q: How do you see your role positively impacting the SIAM community as a whole?
A: With the support of a great team, I’m able to help ensure SIAM’s systems run reliably and securely. Behind every smooth process or resolved issue is a collective effort, and I’m proud to contribute to that. Knowing that my role supports the larger mission—empowering researchers, educators, and innovators—makes the work truly meaningful.
Livia Kleiner, Marketing and Communications Assistant
Prior to joining SIAM, Livia was a student at Arcadia University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Media and Communication. While at Arcadia, she worked as a production assistant on a variety of video projects and at public relations agency 1853 Communications.
As a Marketing and Communications assistant, Livia helps with digital communications and content creation. This includes creating posts for social media, writing blogs for SIAM News, sending network announcements, and editing videos.

Q: Why are you excited to be working at SIAM?
A: I’m excited to work at SIAM because it has a large community from all around the world. SIAM offers so much value to its members which makes it a great professional society to work for.
Q: What part of SIAM’s mission statement do you connect with?
A: I connect with SIAM's mission to promote research, as this is crucial to making mathematical and scientific advancements.
Q: Why do you think STEM is important?
A: STEM is important because it connects to so many different topics. It’s extremely valuable when it comes to solving a variety of problems.
Q: What is one thing that most people do not know about you?
A: I was once interviewed at an event not knowing what it was for. It ended up being a Netflix documentary. Part of my interview made it in, so I’m on Netflix for a few seconds!
Q: How do you see your role positively impacting the SIAM community as a whole?
A: I hope to positively impact the SIAM community through my help in facilitating effective communication between SIAM and its members. I want to ensure members are aware of everything that’s going on at SIAM.
Sharon Margolis, Customer Service Representative/Receptionist
Sharon has customer service experience in a variety of industries including finance and retail, having worked at various startups and non-profits. Prior to joining SIAM, she worked at the Barnes Museum. Sharon has a degree in English from Temple University.
As a Customer Service Representative and Receptionist, Sharon is responsible for managing new member communications and administrative processes.

Q: Why are you excited to be working at SIAM?
A: I'm excited to be part of an effort to connect people of all different backgrounds around the world.
Q: What part of SIAM’s mission statement do you connect with?
A: I feel connected to the ongoing exchange of ideas in person and online!
Q: Why do you think STEM is important?
A: STEM helps drive new technologies and ways of being productive.
Q: What is one thing that most people do not know about you?
A: I took improv classes in New York City.
Q: How do you see your role positively impacting the SIAM community as a whole?
A: I hope to make members feel welcome and supported.
