Matthew J. Colbrook

Matthew J. Colbrook is an assistant professor at the University of Cambridge, prior to which he was a Junior Research Fellow at Cambridge, an FSMP Fellow at École Normale Supérieure in Paris, and an undergraduate and Ph.D. student at Cambridge. He studies the analysis and development of algorithms in the context of approximation theory, spectral theory, solutions of partial differential equations, neural networks, data-driven dynamical systems, optimization, inverse problems, and the solvability complexity index. He is the recipient of the IMA Lighthill-Thwaites Prize, the SIAM Activity Group on Computational Science and Engineering Best Paper Prize, and SIAM’s Richard C. DiPrima Prize.
