Omar Ghattas

Omar Ghattas is a professor of mechanical engineering and the Ernest & Virginia Cockrell Chair in Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin), where he holds courtesy appointments in Earth and planetary sciences, computer science, and biomedical engineering. He is also principal faculty at UT Austin’s Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences and director of the Center for Optimization, Inversion, Machine Learning, and Uncertainty for Complex Systems.
